A not for profit CIC, Code4000 is the only programme in the UK helping to break the cycle of crime by teaching prisoners coding and guiding them into employment on release.

We are seeking our first Regional Manager to work with prisons in the North of England who are delivering the Code4000 programme.  You will work from home and need to be prepared to travel, and work in secure establishments. Your primary function will be to build a network of local businesses, to provide real jobs for trainee coders (in custody) to work on so that they can develop their skills and confidence, and to raise income to underpin the projects costs.  Commission will be paid (to a capped limit) on income generated and will be linked to quality results.

You will need to be self-motivated and dedicated to helping the organisation grow for the benefit of prisoners.

You will need:

  • an understanding of computer coding and its uses,
  • a track record of successful partnership working,
  • the ability to identify new business opportunities and manage the process to translate these into income,
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • a dedication to quality control and best practice, and
  • commitment to equality of opportunity for all.

You will work in partnership with the prison staff who facilitate the programme, and report to the COO based in London.  You will be supported by both the COO, and CEO & Founder of Code4000, based in Stockholm.

Prison Enhanced Security checks will be required.

Code 4000 is exactly the kind of pioneering partnership that we need to encourage. It brings together prisons, businesses and teachers to address the country's demand for digital skills and local regeneration, and giving prisoners relevant employment and a new future.

Chief Reform Officer, Catch 22

To give ex-offenders the confidence and skills they will need to get a job - and critically keep it - we need to engage prisoners in work experience and training in custody which accurately reflects the employment market in the communities they will return to. For the first time Code 4000 gives those in our custody the opportunity to engage in a training programme to become the ‘coders’ of the future.
